I just completed a painting of a scene very close to where I live. I noticed the composition on a walk through the neighborhood and found the dramatic perspective and strong shadows compelling.
Two Houses
Two Houses was painted from a photographic composition I took while on a walk in my neighborhood. I was interested in the contrast of the shadowed forms of the houses and the flatness of the building under construction behind them, and the repeated geometric shapes within the picture plane.
